Serotta

For over thirty years Serotta has been building the most elegant machines that cycling has ever seen.  Excellence has always been in their heritage.

  • In 1986 when the US team 7-Eleven was invited to the Tour De France for the first time, the bike underneath the Huffy label on the downtube was actually a Serotta.
  • The previous year, they discovered that manipulating the shape of the chainstay on their track frames, drive train stiffness could be improved.  The “S-Bend” chainstay was born and along with it came a US Pro Cycling Championship for Eric Heiden.
  • In 1993 Serotta became the first US manufacturer to build double-butted titanium frames by introducing the Legend Ti.
  • In 1998, the industry’s first school for professional bicycle fitting was started by Serotta, which is later known as Serotta International Cycling Institute.
  • By 2005, Serotta had invested in maintaining their own manufacturing facilities rather than moving production overseas.  This product driven attitude was reinforced even further in 2007 when they took over all their own composites manufacturing.

Everyday at their facility in Saratoga Springs, New York, Serotta asks “How can we make it better?”  This isn’t just another “pretty hand made bike.”  Simply put, they are the best.  On average, each bike requires two – five times more labor to build than those built by other manufacturers because such attention is paid to detail and manufacturing tolerances.  And with Serotta’s custom frames, factors such as vertical compliance, vibration damping, torsional characteristics, strength to weight ratios, longevity, and overall weight can be tailored to meet the rider’s needs.  Not to mention, these are some of the most beautifully painted bicycles in the world.  Each bike’s gorgeous look is superseded only by its craftsmanship and technology.

Come in and ask Camran or Chris about their experiences with Serotta.  Camran would love to share stories about his visits to the manufacturing facilities.  And Chris has been teaching bike fit with Serotta International Cycling Institute for years.   They’ll be happy to talk about these dream machines.

Nothing rides like a Serotta.
