At play in this bike’s design is Orbea’s Size Specific Nerve technology. A continuous weave of carbon fiber on each side of the bike threads its way from the rear dropout through the bike, ending again at the rear drop out carries forces throughout the frame, providing one of the smoothest riding, best cornering, most responsive frames we’ve ever ridden. Additionally, Orbea uses different tube sets specifically designed for each particular frame size so that every frame rides exactly as it’s designed to. The big, long tubes necessary for a 60cm aren’t any more flex prone than the short tubes used for a 49cm.
An oversized bottom bracket and drivetrain carry energy from the pedals to the rear wheel with efficiency and the bike’s tapered headtube and integrated headset allow the rider to drive through corners with confidence. It accelerates and descends even faster than its looks suggest it should. And its curves are only outdone by its ability to carve them on mountain roads.
